- Sugihan Jawa
Sugihan Jawa is celebrated on Thursday, November 4, 2021. This holiday is celebrated six days before Galungan come. Sugihan Jawa or Sugihan Jaba falls every Thursday (Wraspati) Wage wuku Sungsang. Sugihan Jawa comes from Sanskrit from the words Sugi and Jaba. Sugi means cleaning and Jaba means outside. So Sugihan Jawa means the cleansing of the universe or the macrocosm or the Bhuana Agung. - Tilem Kalima
Celebrated on Thursday, November 4, 2021. The holy day of Tilem or when the moon is dead (Krsna Forced) when the sky is dark all night without moonlight, from an astronomical point of view the position of the moon is between the earth and the sun, so that the night sky is pitch black. At this time of Tilem, people are celebrated to worship Sang Hyang Surya, because at that time it is believed that Hyang Surya is doing yoga meditation, at that time is the right time to perform self-purification, melting all the dirt (mala) contained in humans.
- Sugihan Bali
This Balinese Sugihan is celebrated on Friday 5 November 2021. Precisely on Sukra (Friday) Kliwon Wuku Sungsang. Sugihan Bali comes from the word sugi which means cleaning and Bali which means inner strength. Meaning : when Redite Paing wuku Dungulan mentioned that Sang Hyang Kala Tiga descended into the world in the form of Sang Bhuta Galungan, who wanted to eat and drink in this world, therefore, holy people, as well as sujana (wise), should be alert and restrain or limit himself and then concentrate his mind on holiness, so as not to be caught by the harmful qualities of the influences of Sang Bhuta Galungan, and that is what is called the day of penance. Therefore, starting today one must begin to control oneself. Not easily angry, emotional, and always patient so that later on during the Galungan Day, we can celebrate the day of Dharma victory in a plenary way.
- Penyajaan Galungan
Penyajaan Galungan is celebrated on Monday 8 November 2021. To be precise Monday (Soma) Pon wuku Dunggulan or two days before Galungan Day. At this time, Hindus make snacks that will be used during Galungan Day in two days. One of the snacks that is usually made is jaje uli which is made from sticky rice. In addition, at this time, preparations for various ceremonies are also carried out, both from coconut, slepan, and ron materials. Philosophically, worship comes from the word alone which means earnestly. So that today a person increases or strengthens his sincerity in welcoming the victory of dharma over adharma.
- Penampahan Galungan
Penampahan Galungan is celebrated on Tuesday, November 9, 2021. On this day, people slaughter animals, both pigs and chickens. In addition, the installation of penjor at the entrance of the house was also carried out. On this day ruled by Sang Bhuta Amengkurat. Therefore, after sunset, the Biakala ceremony (mabiakala) is held in order to avoid the influence of the Kala Tiganing Galungan which is carried out in the yard.
- Hari Raya Galungan
