First, Indonesian spices are not easy to find abroad.

The same goes for Nasi Padang… The history said there were times where the European hunted the Indonesian spices. For them, Nasi Goreng has a rich flavour due to the concoction of the spices. It is not easy to find the ingredients. If it’s just red onion and garlic it might be very easy to find there, but additional spice like, turmeric, cardamom, cumin, and many other spices that make it so different from any other food in the world and indeed only exist in Indonesia, the taste becomes very rich.

The good thing is whatever the topping is, it’s right for everyone. Apart from its spices, another thing that makes people love Nasi Goreng is because of its diverse toping. Some offer it with shredded chicken, eggs, and even vegetables like petai, cabbage, and broccoli!

This makes foreign tourists feel happy because they can immediately get nutrition from vegetables, especially for vegan or meat from a plate of fried rice.

One of the favourites is the one with the egg or often called it scrambled eggs. Not to mention if this fried rice is also equipped with topping vegetables such as carrots, cucumbers, or lettuce that is very enjoyed by them.

Another funny thing about Nasi Goreng, it is a flexible menu to eat at any time. Whether it’s as a breakfast, lunch or dinner menu, it is still right to be enjoyed. It can be found anywhere in a friendly price. Even buying it doesn’t need to be in an expensive restaurant. Whether it is located on a roadside as a street-food to a big fancy restaurant, it offers various toppings, especially the price is relatively cheap, depends on the location.
